Just check any Mac boards - full of problems. In my case it has revived the infamous refusing password problem in Mail.
Bah - I wish I could uninstall it and go back to 10.2.5

I guess I should knock on wood, because for me on three machines pismo 500,quicksilver 1ghz, and TiSD 1 ghz all the updates have gone smoothly so far.
Ive been using OSX since the public beta days and to date I havent really had any problems.
Now on to my question how do you know that 10.2.7 will come out?
p.s. try fixing your permissions, sometimes that helps.

I seem to have a similar problem. Finder hung when I hit restart after installing 10.2.6 and a second tine when I logged in the next day. Not exactly constant but still annoying. 10.2.5 worked perfectly for me, but, hey, I like the excitement of these upgrades.

Why wait for 7? I have it in a box in the attic. Oh wait, I keep forgetting that my TiBook doesn't have a floppy drive. I guess I will have to live with the already installed working splendid 10.2.6.

i think there will be a 10.2.7, as we won't hvae 10.3 till septemberish.
that's a long time to go without any more bugfixes/updates. i think there will be one more mega-fix sometime mid summer, just to get all the bugs they're going to squash squashed before they move all their support to 10.3
i just don't see them going from mid may all the way to september without any more bugfixes.

i like .2.6 it got rid of that problem i had with my ucontrol enter key becoming a fn key. .2.5 would not let me scroll properly if i held down the enter(fn) key. .2.6 has no problem with it.
good job.

I had an opposite experience with 10.2.6. I had 10.2.5 installed and i literally couldn't use my machine (B+W w/ G4 500 card) because the finder would restart every few minutes and Powermail and Camino would also unexpectedly quit quite often. This is my home machine so i install the newest updates on it before i risk it on my work machine. When i installed 10.2.6 the heavens opened and things were smooth sailing again. It was pretty amazing. I didn't really see anyone else mention a problem but i think it had to do with my maxtor pci firewire card as the console kept spitting up errors about the firewire extension. Everything is cool now.
So i guess my point is, if you are having problems with .5 maybe try .6.

I've yet to have a problem with a single point release ... like, ever. What are people installing on their machines that everything goes fruity? I know I'm one of a very few lucky ones. Computers have problems sometimes -- and the things is, you will ever only hear about the problems.

I had trouble with 10.2.5 myself. It was the only version of the OS since my mac plus that I had to wipe and switch back.
What did It was USB devices, including a printer or a hub that would cause a panic after 10 minutes. Since 10.2.6 I am back to normal.

Hi everyone,
This one is new for me (maybe not anyone else); but my Finder crashes (repeatedly) whenever I use contextual menus on the Desktop. I have repaired permissions, etc and nothing has solved it.BM Any suggests?
BTW, this is the first issue with a point release in Jaguar (been using OS X since PB).
Cheers,

Sounds like your are using bad lead. What kind of lead is it? I hear most note pads run optimally with #2 DDR lead from Faber Castell. If that is what you are using, have you tried running the Faber Castel lead permissions repair? It's a little late now that it is broken, sorry. You might want to try Alsoft GraphiteWarrior, I've heard it can revive even the deadest writing implements.
blackmacx - are you running FruitMenu or any contextual menu plugins? Try removing them and see if it works. I haven't had any problems with FruitMenu in 10.2.6, and I don't use contextual menu plugins, but you might want to try re-installing them if you need them, or just trashing them otherwise

You need to wait for BallPointPen 1.0. It's supposed to be a highly evolved technology that totally eliminates the snapping lead bug.
FWIW, 10.2.6 has been trouble-free for me.

Actually from what I've been reading on MacFixit and elsewhere there are relatively few problems with 10.2.6. I haven't had any problems at all so far.

These threads are strange! 10.2.6 is doing fine for me. Could it be that I did a fresh install of 10.2 the same night and had no gimmicks, haxies or other potentially unstable software to cause problems? I don't know. I think that backing up and doing a fresh install on an upgrade is sometimes a good idea, even though it's in no way practical, of course...

You may have hit the nail on the head with your mention of haxies. I don't use any of them. I wonder how many who've reported trouble do.

Try repairing your permissions and running the 10.2.6 Combo updater. Many times the Combo update will fix issues caused by the standalone updater.

Haxies are bad news. They go against everything that OSX is about. Patching memory in the OS should have gone away along with OS9.

Uh... there has never been an OS upgrade which has been bug free for all users. There are always users who experience problems.
Its a disservice to portray this upgrade as dangerous when in fact there have been relatively few problems. Otherwise, to be consistent, you would have to recommend that people never upgrade their OS.
