Right now I have three original OSX 10.1 CDS - One Set of Jaguar Update Disks - and one DVD install disk which came with my Laptop, (Not to mention all the classic system disks from 8 upwards).

All three OSX 10.1 disks are fscked, they will not install a bootable copy of 10.1 - admittedly two are completely spannered (younger brothers), but one looks fine (mine) but after installing won't boot past a grey screen.

The Jag update disks are fine - as far as I can tell - but they are completely useless unless they are loaded on top of 10.1

Can I firewire target mode the computer I want to install on to from the laptop, and install the DVD copy of jag on to it.

It sounds like it won't work, so I don't hold out much hope.

Before anybody says go to the Apple Store: A. I live in the UK B. Am on Anti-histamines feel like sh*t, shouldn't drive, and have decided if I'm going to pass out anywhere it is safest in front of my Mac; although if I have to look at any more install screens I could easily decide that slashing my wrists in a warm bath might be preferable.

Suggestinos please?

That should work.

- My opinions may have changed, but not the fact that I am right.
