Okay, this one is paired down to focus on one annoying issue:
1) Why is it that Recent Items under the Apple menu of my owner account migrate to Apple menus of others?
Anyone?
Thanks.

Not much consolation but I get this problem too. I have been searching around for a solution for some time but haven't had any luck. It seems to be quite uncommon.
One suspicion I have/had is that Psuedo (the utility that lets you run programs as root while logged in to your own account) was stuffing things around. Have you used this at any point?
It seems that repairing permissions and rebooting seems to fix it up for a short time, but not permanently.
Anyone have any ideas?
Where is the recent items information stored and how is it possible that another user could overwrite this information?

Thanks, iguana...I have indeed used the sudo command, as I have also logged in as root, which, another poster (here or at MacFixIt or Apple, not sure which) has found to result in an un-requested clearing of the Recent Items menu.
I have experienced this as well. So, it would seem the Recent Items info must be somehow tied up with root functions.
We'll see what's out there. It really isn't much of a problem, except that these little glitches drive me batty.
Thanks.

No firm resolution yet. I've encountered at least one other post, though I can't remember where, and replies did little more than to eliminate this "migration" as a security issue; it is more an issue of privacy.
For me, it is an issue of something not working the way it should, and why.
Maybe moving it to the top again will get the issue some action.

Darn. I too am experiencing this problem. My girlfriend and I see each other's recent docs/apps even though we have two entirely different user accounts.
It's strange, because I've only seen this happen recently. Maybe since 10.2.6?
A fresh install and repairing permissions hasn't helped at all.
Does anybody using something <10.2.6 get these problems as well?

I am running 10.2.6 now, but bust my britches and bless my soul if I hadn't first encountered the issue in 10.2.5.
And, as Charles Barkley says "I could be wrong, but I doubt it."
But, really, I could be wrong.
