After I installed 10.2.6, my Finder started acting weird (freezing every 5 seconds), and my SystemUIServer was messed up.

When I logged out, I got a black console screen with the message something like "Could not connect to the server (something)".

So I restarted, and got the following:

Has anyone seen this before?

That icon means something is wrong with the system folder.

Sounds like your update went bad, time to reinstall!

I don't think I'm updating to 10.2.6 again.
But I'm going to do an Archive & Install.

The exact thing happened to me last weekend when trying to install YDL 3.0.

I recently saw a startup icon I've never seen before either. We had a power outage a couple of days ago, and I had to reboot the G4. On startup, there was a torn folder icon, but after rebooting again and zapping the PRAM, it rebooted normally.
