I don't know if this has to do with 10.2.6, but after I upgraded, all the browsers on my computer(IE, Camiro, phoenix, omniweb) don't start. I clcik on the icon and they crash. The only browser that does work is Safari, but that app is also crashing on most web sites like http://apple.com/trailers . Is anyone else having this problem? I want to use my other browers or have safari not crash on everything!!!!!!

Repair your disk with Disk Utility or boot in single user mode (command-S) and use fsck -y
If this is not enough, delete preferences/cache files for all browsers.

Are only web broswers acting up or are
other programs doing the same thing?

Some error message in Console? Care to post a crash log?
Nasrudin sat on a river bank when someone shouted to him from the opposite side: "Hey! how do I get across?" "You are across!" Nasrudin shouted back.

I mean a pop up window appears after the App crashed saying "the app suddenly crashed". Where can I get the crash log from?

Open th program "Console" in your Utilities folder, then go to Console->Preferences->Crashes and enable "Enable crash reporting" and "Automatically display crash logs".
Make the browser crash and post the last crash log here (you'll see at the time/date if it's the correct one). Someone might find a hint about the cause of the problem.
If you don't let it display automatically you'll find the crash logs in <yourhomefolder>/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/

This has started happening to me as well. I'm on 10.2.8 and it just started happening recently. i upgraded to 10.2.8 about a week after it was released. Now none of my browsers, except for safari work !!!!! this is really frustrating cause Safari crashes a lot as well.

What the hell is going on ? whats the solution ?ive tried IE, Netscape, OmniWeb and they all crash right after launch. This seems....*gasp* ... kinda monopolistic. But it's really frustrating....is there anything i cna do short of formatting and reinstalling ?

Cheers.

Please, if you have a problem like this, without a crash log it's practically impossible to diagnose. There should already be a crash log in ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/ for the crashing programs (~ is your home folder).

If there is no log file, open /Applications/Utilities/Console and set crash logging on in the Preferences.

Just copy and paste the entire section for the last crash, it should start with some information about the time and process that crashed, and end with a bunch of register dumps and a line of stars IIRC.

My guess would be a corrupted browser plug-in, most probably Quicktime. Try removing plug-ins from /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/.
