Hi, I have an external LaCie pocket drive that I have partioned into two blocks. Both 10.2.5 and 10.2.6 seem to have trashed one of the partions. has anyone else had this problem? Know what my be the cause?

Thanks!

Not sure what the cause is but running DiskWarrior might stop it from happening

Trashing == what?

Deleting files on the disk? Making the disk unbootable? Making the disk unreadable?

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

Ordered DiskWarrior...haven't received the emails yet.

Well, about a week or two ago I had my internal drive report header errors and eventually refuse to mount. I recovered the files and reinstalled, upgrading it from 10.2.5 to 10.2.6. Then soon afterwards, one of the partitions on my external drive wouldn't mount. Recovered and backed up both partitions wiped the drive and restored the files. Now the other partition on the external drive has become unmoutable.

Items I noticed before this happened though. The System started to display the clock in 24 hour time.....preferences started changing on their own....some windows displayed in Aqua while others in Graphite? and I think what trashed the other drive was (and this happens occasionally) my PB will go to sleep or in this case I closed the cover, but the sleep light will not go on, the screen goes blank, but I can still hear the drive or fan. Opening the cover or pressing spacebar and keys doesn't wake the machine and I have force reboot it.

hardware seems to checkout O.K.

I've reloaded with 10.2 now and will probably stay with it for a while.

Oh yah...forgot to mention this....might be unrelated. Was noticing odd text in Safari and in the docs of some disk images. It was like the text or certain portions was replaced by odd number sequenses ????

I'm still noticing it in 10.2??
