I keep getting a security error of "Could not establish a secure certificate to this site, has an invalid date" in Safari and other browsers on a 10.2.6 machine, any idea how to fix this? I've tried deleting some security prefs, run all the latest security updates, etc to no prevail.

Thanks for any help.

It's a work machine, I'll give that a shot tomorrow for sure.

If that's all it is, that's unbelieveable.

Thanks!

Yeah the date and time fix should work. Can't think of anything else it could be.

Of course, it could be a problem with the certificate at this specific site. The original poster wasn't clear whether it happened on ALL ssl sites or just one particular one.

I don't have the exact answer (in fact what I'm going to talk is not even Safari or OS X related). However, it's related to secure certificate.

I have a stockborking account with HSBC bank, and when I try to logon from my work PC with IE5 under WinNT, IE5 warns me the secure certifcate has a problem with a invalid validation period . I check the actual validation period of the certificate, and from what I can recall the validation period of that certifiate itself is longer than the period of VeriSign's "master certificate" validation period, and that seems to give the grief to IE5 on NT...

Further to that, HSBC has a special help page describing the problem. It suggest users to upgrade the browser.

I haven't try out the HSBC web pages on 10.2.6 or Safari yet (probably will try it in a few days), but it seems what problem you encounter sounds familar to what I had on my work PC.

Hope this helps.
