The fact that it has been discussed "thousands of times" highlights the reality that this is one of the most UN-Mac-like aspects of OSX. If I recall from Apple's own instructions (KB# 106824), there are about 40 steps -- including a trip to the Terminal -- to do this. (Yeah, I know... making a new user is easier). Anyway, if that much procedure is needed to jump through the BSD hoops, you'd think they'd supply an AppleScript or some custom terminal command:

I agree, apple should have added this many updates ago. I don't really need it but I can think of many cases where it would be great. What do schools do every year make 1000 new names? or more likely they have some app or easier way of doing it, well I want access to that wasy way.
