i have a very very sick 1Ghz iMac running 10.2.6.

The finder will not launch on any account I have created. I tried trashing the finder.plist file, remove caches, etc. Didn't help.

Did fsck -y. No help.

Did disk permissions repair. Nothing.

Tried reinstalling the combo 10.2.6 update. Nothing.

Help. I have run out of ideas.

I am convinced that it has something to 10.2.6. It was a rushed/flawed update.

have you installed any gui mods?

It is a user computer at my work place. They are about as bare as an OS X system can get. Just Office, Photoshop Elements, and Outlook.

Then it just reassures my theory that 10.2.6 was a bug-filled, rushed update for Unreal Tournament 2k3.
