since the newest version of quicktime can play back .m2v files, i'd like to use that as the default program for this file type instead of VLC, which i had been using.

the only options i can find anywhere in os X is to change the "open with.." properties for each individual file. is there a way to change this so every single .m2v file will open with quicktime?

i know i could just select them all in the finder and change the "open with.." properties that way, but i'd like quicktime to be the default for any new files that are created too.

thanks..

in case of accidental ingestion, consult a mortician.

Just get info on one of the files. Change the open with pop-up to Quicktime and click change all. This will change the suffix's association.

What about "Change All..." which is located right in the "Open With..." settings in Get Info?

[edit: oh, looks like someone else got to it before me ^_^]
