Im on a university... and I want to force a new IP ... any program that does that? xsupport used to, but it isn't in vt.com anymore... any ideas?

You can also just use Terminal. (I assume you are connecting over Ethernet). Type in "sudo ifconfig en0 down" to release your current IP and then "sudo ifconfig en0 up" to obtain a new one. (That's a zero, not an O after en.)

Don't get me wrong, I used to be a VersionTracker man myself until they implemented their crappy new product pages and reviews. Ew.
MacUpdate gets my traffic now.

I had just been doing that at work on a Windows machine... that's the first thing I thought of when I saw this thread. Don't feel bad, buddy, it happens to the best of us.

An alternative, if you don't like using other apps or the terminal, is to open sys prefs/network/show/network port config and deselect ethernet, apply, then reselect - can't remember where I got this from, I think it was the apple discussion forums, but it works for me.
