I've got more than 2gig of data that I need to burn onto multiple CDRs.

Is there any way or any software that can auto-separate the files and burn them onto the discs? (å la simplifying the process)
So I would get the stuff on 3 discs
[700mb CD] [700mb CD] [700mb CD]

[edit] Oh yeah, the 2gig of data consists of many many files

Please advise.
Thanks.

aaaahhh

"split"

type "man split" for more info

use "cat" to get everything back together.

EDIT: whoops it seems that you have several different files and not 1 2GB file. maybe you can use Stuffit Deluxe ?

there are a number of ways how none that i can think of that are quick and easy.

you could create three directories place the filess in each until you reach the capacity of the disc then you could use stuffit or tar to compress them then burn the compressed directories.

or you could just burn the directories.

etc.

Retrospect Express is the easiest way to do this. It'll even compress the data if you like.
