I'm new to the X operating system. It seems that pages from a program don't show up on the screen until the mouse is passed over the area.

For example, in MS Internet Explorer, when going to a web site the site is not shown on the screen until I pass over the area with the mouse.

Is this a OS problem or a Explorer problem? Is there a fix for it?

That's a problem with IE that been there for a few years. The solution is to use a better browser such as Safari or Camino.

I'm not sure if I understand you correctly, but this sounds like an unusual problem.
You could try Safari or Camino and see if it's an Internet Explorer problem or not.
