Hi there,

I have a small network with 3 macs in my office. Each computer has 4 accounts on the machines. I whant to be able to login from my computer into 1 of the machine with its admin account and go into the home of other accounts and transfer files that are not in the Public folder. For some reason I cannot do so.

How do i go about it?
Thanks

I think you have to login using the admin accounts on those computers, not yours.

Just because you're an admin doesn't naturally mean you've got access to other user's files.

Log in on the machine you eventually want to be able to access remotely, and change the group priveledges to admin and read & write. That should work, I think.

If you add yourself to the wheel group (in addition to the admin group), you will have the control you desire. You should understand the security implications of your actions before proceeding, however. You could also open up read permissions to user home directories, if that type of workgroup/peer-level permissions is desirable to your situation:
sudo chmod -R 765 /Users/*
