I just installed OS X on a Quicksilver G4 867. At first it was running fine but after doing the 10.2.6 update (yes, via the preference pane. it was the user, not me who did it) the system just hangs at the Apple logo. I booted into OS 9 and ran Software Updater control panel to see if I am missing a firmware update or something. The only thing which came up was for the Superdrive but the message said that the update was already applied. There was an Nvidia driver update but I figure that's for OS 9 only.
I have tried booting OS X with Apple-S held down to run fsck and Apple-V for verbose to see where it's hanging, but neither works. I just get stuck at the Apple logo. Any idea as how to remedy this?
Thanks!!!!

That happens to me a lot, too, on my iMac. What I do is unplug everything except for the power, and then start up.

Could be a problem with a PCI card, if unplugging perifs doesn't work, take the cards out.
