Hi,
Anybody know how to fix an issue where the character palette refuses to open?

I select "Show Character Palette" from the language/flag menu but the window doesn't open and is not visible. The text in the menu does change to "Hide Character Palette" though.

Taking a look in the console shows:
Launch failed with error code -2857

Can anybody help me to get my character palette back?

Thanks.
Luke

Trash com.apple.CharPaletteServer.plist
Nasrudin sat on a river bank when someone shouted to him from the opposite side: "Hey! how do I get across?" "You are across!" Nasrudin shouted back.

You could try emptying your cache and repairing permissions, but this happened to me once and all I had to do to fix was delete the preferences.

Have you rebooted?

I'd download Cocktail and run all of its maintenance dealies, like cron scripts, repair permissions, and delete caches. Then reboot.
