Greetings,
Have 2 G4s connected via the Ethernet. When I use the Go, Connect to server on the upstairs Mac, I'm able to connect to the Mac in the basement but when I try the same thing from the basment Mac, I get "Connecting to Server - An error has occurred = - 36"

The basement Mac is talking to the upstairs Mac because I'm able to connect to the internet using IProuter.

At one point, I had these two machines talking to each other just fine but I must have changed something.

Help,

Steve

Well, for what it is worth, -36 is an i/o error, which usually indicates a hardware problem (but not always).

I've been getting this a lot recently - I have a powerbook on airport and a g4 on ethernet.

Occassionally I simply cannot access the g4 over the network (but people outside my network can)

i can't even ping it.

It's most strange - restarting my airport base station seems to go the trick for me.

v.irritating.

Happens now and then without changing any settings. So far for zero config...
Restarting some machine(s) normally does the trick, be it ABS, or a Mac.
