This file appeared on my drive rcently, in the root (i guess that's what it's called) directory. it has no icon and it's about 9.6MB. I boldly trashed it once, but it came back, any ideas what it is?

i think that's from an older build of Frogblast, the file gets created when you quit the app.
Are you running Frogblast? If so get the latest version.

This was happening to me too. I write cocoa apps and while testing one I kept getting that file appearing. It turns out that when you compile your program with profiling on it generates that file.
Most likely you've been running some beta programs that were compiled that way.

Yes, I just started a new beta test. I'll check with the creators. Thanks

Guys,
That should be the output file to be used with gprof (IIRC) which is a code profiler. Profilers tell you how long your programs spends in each procedure, allowing you to target optimizations to procedures that get run alot. You can analyze the output with GNU tools, but I believe the gmon.out file is automatically created by programs that have profiling turned on at build time.

Is it possible for you to let us know which program it was... I got the same file at about the same time you did.
