Could someone send me Disk Copy.app and a Disk Image of their Utilities folder (10.2.6), mine has all of the sudden vanished from my Applications folder and no amount of searching has found it.

Thanks

Just reinstall it from your disks.

I would but its a little to big...130MB.

I'd use pacifist to grab the utilities folder from the installation package on the Jaguar CD, most if not all should work in 10.2.6.

What a weird request. Things like this have happened to me before and I must confess it never occurred to me to ask people here to send their OS to me.

Just reinstall from the original disks (which you no doubt purchased).

Well I could take them off the disk, but the ones on the restore disk are from 10.2.3 and would be possibly diffrent from the ones in 10.2.6. (The Restore disk came with my 17" Powerbook). Also I would get pacifist, but its a disk image, and I don't have disk copy. See the slight problem.

Don't forget to Archive and Install, with Migrate settings/users/whatever.

Easier than 130mb email.

In the terminal:
hdiutil mount /path/to/pacifist.dmg

The terminal is in the utilities folder which has disappeared

You'll have to login as >console and mount it that way if you want to take that route.

Yes they would be different versions but most, if not all should work. Try it! then come back to us with any further problems.

UPDATE: Well, they were nowhere to be found on the Restore DVD. So I went up to my school and pulled them off an eMac. Only problem was the permissions kept coming over broken, and some utilities wouldn't even open. Enter OS9, I booted the eMac into 9 and put my machine into target disk mode and copied them over. That did the trick and the permissions were not even touched.
