I use dial-up on my 1ghz 17in iMac at home... I have a T1 connection here at work (windows box). I just sut up my iMac last night and ran the software update. It showed several updates I needed, the smallest of which was 4.2 megs (iMovie), the lagest was 80some megs (OSX 10.2.6 update). My question is this, is there any way to download these updates to my windows box, burn them to cdr and then install them on my iMac at home?(is it as simple as copying the files from the cd to my iMac hd and running them?)

I have found and downloaded several of them, but can't find the OSX update on Apple's site.

You mean the 10.2.6 Combo Updater or the 10.2.6 Updater?

Both are just a stuffit file and can be easily burned to a CD-R and used to update your mac.

Forgive me as I am a new "Switcher". After I download do I just copy it to my iMac and (for lack of a better word) un-stuffit then run it?

No apologies necessary. And yes, that's exactly what you'll need to do. The update is a archived .DMG (Disk Image file) file that will contain all the necessary update files for you to use. Just copy the stuffit file to your desktop (or wherever you prefer) and double click on it. Stuffit Expander will launch and expand the DMG file. Once the file is expanded, the app 'Disk Copy' will open and mount the disk image file. It's that mounted image that you want to open and use the files inside to update your mac (but that should happen automatically once you double click on the Update.pkg file).
