Wont work. Wacom won't write drivers for the old adb or serial tablets in OSX. I have an old 12x12 serial that Wacom offered to convert to USB for $160. Had it converted and it works great.
If you have a smaller tablet it's probably not worth it.

Buster: Oh, yeah yeah, those guys did a pretty good job.
An ADB tablet (regardless of whether it's connected to a motherboard ADB port or an ADB->USB adapter) will only work on OS 9 or earlier. There is no way to get around this, as Apple has said outright that it will not develop ADB support beyond mouse and keyboard in OS X, and Wacom can't write a driver without full ADB support.
