I have an ipod now and really want to organize my library to be as clean as possible.
Right now I have several duplicates especially when browsing via artist, etc.
Are there any apps that help with this?

MP3 Rage is great. A little complicated but if you have a lot of mp3's it'll have a solution to just about every problem.

Thanks, Kovacs, for mentioning my site. BTW, Apple's iTunes AppleScripts have not been updated since iTunes 2.0.3 came out (December, 2001), so there is no support for things like ratings, play count, composer, artwork, etcetera.

I'm slowing updating my library to AAC and want to keep my ipod updated as well. The problem is I have to search my ipod to see what needs to be updated, delete them, then reimport the aac files.
Any ideas on how to make this more simple?
Right now I use a "last added acc" smartlist on my laptop, and then based on that I delete the files from my ipod and re-import the aac.
Maybe this is the best way, looking for ideas.
Thanks..

If you tag your songs properly (Artist, Albums and all), iTunes does a great job. Plus, it gives you many options for SmartPlaylists. It takes a long time (I'm afraid to count the hours I spent doing this) but I'm really glad I dit it. Every Artist has it's folder and albums subfolders. It gets updated any time I do a change. It's a lot better than iPhoto's claddification scheme.

Unfortunately, its usefulness is limited the more songs you have. I have about 1200 different artists, and not having them automatically sorted by genre as well gets too chaotic.
