Q: What creates "Temporary Items" dir?

I have them popping up ever couple of days on my partitions even though I don't even have Classic installed. Any way to stop this? or at least hide frfom view? Thanks.

I, too, have this mysterious and empty folder show up at the root level of my hard drive. Nuisance to say the least...

How did it come to this? Goodbye PowerPC. | sensory output

I read somewhere that System 9 creates these directories. but what's puzzling is I dont use System 9 or Classic.

It might be some buggy software creates it there. I think the root folder used to be the place of that folder in Classic. But even a Classic app would be able to find the correct place for temporary files if it uses the appropriate API.

I don't have that happen for me.

i always associated the Temporary Items folder with network activity. it seems to appear after i connect to my comp from another mac. will do some tests and get back to you...

Photoshop does it for me. Any time I launch Photoshop, there they are again. I'll have to do that "make invisible > change permissions" bit.
