I recently tried to do something that I wasnt reeeeally sure about and now when I start up the terminal I get the following message:

Last login: Mon Jun 2 19:45:38 on ttyp1
Welcome to Darwin!
etenv: Command not found.
[yongfooks computer:~] yongfook%

Not too sure why that 3rd line is there. Everything works fine, I just want to get rid of that line as its a bit annoying. Is there some startup file I need to edit something out of, somewhere?

Cheers

Take a look in one or more of your dot files. My guess would be the .tcshrc file in your home folder, do:

less ~/.tcshrc

and see if there is a line that begins with

etenv

You probably meant to have the command:

setenv something

there.

Or just do a:
  grep -E "(^|[^[:alnum:]])etenv" /etc/* ~/.* 2>/dev/null | more

...to find the file. (Works in BASH; YMMV in other shells.)

utidjian > thanks, that solved it. I had indeed made a typo in the .cshrc file.
