I remember hearing that this was possible with 10.2. Is it as easy as creating a large img and installing 9.2 on it? How big does it have to be for a pretty minimal installation?

Sorry, no answer here but that would be brilliant if it was possible!

Works perfectly. I've used this for a while now - don't use Classic that much.
I have a 100Mb disk image with a minimum installation of 9.2.2 on it and still have 13Mb to spare.
You don't even have to manually mount it: it mounts automatically when you open a Classic app, so it doesn't take any longer than using Classic straight off the HD.

Just create the disk image, install Classic on it, mount it and select it in the Classic Pref Pane, then unmount it.
Whenever you start Classic it will automatically mount without even needing to open Disk Copy.

Wow, cool ! I use classic maybe once a month and I don't want all those extra folders on my HD, this is fast, safer and easier to manage...

...As long as you never need to boot into OS 9 (which, of course, is becoming less and less of an issue).
