Hi, I changed my internal DVD rom to a cd-burner (Lite-On 40x).

Whenever I wanna delete and then burn a CDRW which contains old data Toast tells me:

"There is still data on this CDRW, do u want to delete that now?".

WHEN I PRESS YES now (sometimes even when I press STOP) I am lost: Toast cycles to death and I must kill it. After that the driver is gone, my cd-rom is not recognized anymore. I have NO Chance than rebooting. And this while my pc-friends stands beside me... ;-)

WHAT is the command line that force-reloads the driver? Pleeez...

I'd suggest you start using Disk Utility to erase your CDRW discs before using them in Toast. (You probably just need a fresh OS X install. And make sure you have your Toast updated to the very latest version, 5.2.1 right now.)

Thanks admin-san,

but I'd rather know how to reload drivers. Most of the times (when I remember that problem) I can press CMD-B in Toast and intentionally erase the CDRW. This is no problem. It is just that I am not supposed/allowed to press it in that certain requester.

Do u know about this bug being fixed in 5.2.1? I got 5.2 and will update now.

To load drivers:

Code:
kextload /System/Library/Extensions/extension_name.kext
I'm pretty sure that's how you do it.
