Hi -- Mentioned in a different post that when I ran Disk Utility the other night (was trying to copy files from my PB and got weird error messages), I got something called "overlapped extent allocations." Did some research and discovered this is not good! Now, I have backups of everything. I immediately ordered Disk Warrior, but it might not get here for awhile. I could drive to an Apple Store but one store is out, or was yesterday, and the other store's a good 45 minutes away and I can't get there today anyway.

The computer is acting fine, but I fear I'm on borrowed time. Should I a) wait for DW or try like heck to get a copy tomorrow or b) wipe the drive and reinstall everything, since I have backups or c) do one of those other installs (archive/whatever?

Anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks.

If you've got current backups, a wipe, reinstall using something like Carbon Copy Cloner probably won't take any longer than running DiskWarrior, if things go south between now and when it comes in.

DW should be able to fix that, though, if you don't feel like messing with it.
