Probably 'cause your DVD from the Finder is HFS+ and Windows can't natively read it. You should reburn the disc in Toast as a "hybrid" disc so both Macs and PCs can read it.

Or burn it as a UDF disk.

can you explain how to burn it as a UDF disc with the finder

I am not real happy about having to plop down another $100 to burn a disc that everyone can read

(by the way, if anyone has been thinking about getting toast, they have a $30 rebate going right now)

That sounds like it should work. Burning from the finder is just burning a disk image anyway.

Just create a blank disk image in Disk Copy in "MS-DOS" format. Then burn it to a DVD. Make sure to set it large enough to hold your files.

That won't work. Disk Copy won't let you burn the image. PC CDs or DVDs don't use MS-DOS format (FAT/FAT32).
