When I log on to my G4 from my windows box, I get a group of folders for the user I logged on with. I've run out of room on my boot disk, where I've been storing my DVD backups in the movie directory. I added a shortcut to a second folder located on my second drive on the G4.. in the movies directory, but it only comes up as an indefinable icon when viewed from my windows box... What do I need to do so my user share can use my second drive?

Download this handy utility.

Sharepoints

It's a preference pane that allows you to set up shares on your system. Otherwise you need unix boffin knowledge to do this kind of thing it would seem.

Under the 'Normal Shares' tab, It allows you to browse to the folder or disk you want to share (in this case the root of your second drive) and give the share a name (that will appear on the Windows machine when you connect).

You need to remember to enable Windows (SMB) Sharing.

Hopefully it should be self explainatory!
If it rained soup I'd have a fork in my hand!
