lately, when booting up my machine, once I get to the desktop, I find myself a 'guest' on my own computer. I've been having to log out, then log back in as 'ME' in order to straighten things out..

what's that all about, and how do I make 'ME' the default when starting up?

Have a look in the System Prefs -> Accounts and check "Set auto login..."

Why do you have a guest account? Did you create it?

I did. I guess I should delete it, I have it for when friends use my computer when I'm not around, so they don't muff anything up. but I don't find myself(or them) using it ever, so..

the logging in as guest problem started like three days ago when I made a fresh Jag install on another partition. I did this to transfer it over to another computer via firewire and Carbon Copy Cloner... it worked flawlessly..
but since then, on MY Jag partition, I've been getting this log in as guest thing.

thanks yo

It probably has to do with the fact that internally, users aren't identified by name, but by user ID #. Most likely, you (one one partition) and guest (on the other) have the same ID #.

I think it can be changed using NetInfo Manager.

Or just delete (and re-create, if needed) the Guest account.

I went into system prefs/accounts and yea, it was set to 'automatically log in as guest'.. so I unchecked it, and all is well
