i would love to try to make a new voice to play around with in the speech settings in OS X.

does anyone know how to do this?

That would be too creepy to have your computer talk to you with your own voice.

I don't think there is a way... In fact, most of the voices are just variations on a few built-in ones.

What's creepy is Victoria sounds just like my wife, or the other way around, so I never know if it's the Mac or her.

There is no way to do this, and sadly Apple doesn't seem to care about adding newer, higher quality voices to it either. Here's hoping for Panther
