I recently installed OS10.2.6 on my pismo 400 f/w. (768 ram)

It's not as smooth as on my 933, but it seems acceptable.

I have one slight problem though.

Sometimes when surfing, half of the content on a webpage will disappear. As an example the top half of the screen will be blank, and i see the remaining text on the bottom end.

I suppose this has something to do with the meager 8 meg video card in the pismo perhaps ?

I never had these problems in 9.2.2
And IE will sometimes quit. If I was in 9, id just give it a ton of memory, can i fix this in X ?

Is there a way to turn down certain graphix options in OSX so its not that heavy on my video card ?

And if anybody suggests getting the g3 - 900 upgrade, yeah im planning on doing it hopefully soon Ill still have the lousy 8 meg video card though ;(

thanx

Did you try another web browser?
Nasrudin sat on a river bank when someone shouted to him from the opposite side: "Hey! how do I get across?" "You are across!" Nasrudin shouted back.

IE has always had problems with disappearing text since OS X since the first release for 10.0. MS obviously isn't in any rush to fix it.

Use a better browser.

I have the same problem using Safari for some sites. I've emailed Apple about it but I can't figure out what exactly it is. The BBC news site in particular does it almost regularly. The IE problem has been around for a while but Safari seems to do the same. I think it has something to do with the code on the dissappearing sites not Safari itself. My online banking site does it too. Told Apple about that one also.

I've never seen any other browser do this in my experience, only IE. Also, in my exerience, it definitely isn't the site because you can click on the blank area and IE will refresh and show hidden content.

I was unaware that IE was so crappy under OSX. I'd been using it for years under OS9, and it was fine.

I suppose I'll just D/L every browser available and see which one suits my style.

I've already tried safari, but there's a couple of things with it i don't like, hopefully it will get better with the final release.

I'll try out the other suggestions here, and a few more.

thanx
