I just received an original 5 gig ipod from apple yesterday. I plugged it into my firewire port on my 600mhz graphite imac. It says do not disconnect. i cannot get that message to go away. I figured last night it was charing, and i woke up this morning it says the same thing. What do i do. Help please, I don't want an expensive paperweight.

Eject the iPod, either from iTunes and/or (if you have set it to be a firewire hard drive) from the Finder.
