Does anyone know of a way to establish a VPN using IP Sec in 10.2.6? My (Win2k) office LAN is switching from PPTP supported by the MacOS's Internet Connect. I know Cisco Systems has an OSX client, but I'm reluctant to beg our Mac-hostile IT people to obtain me a copy. I believe that the Mac's FreeBSD underpinnings include a daemon called "Racoon" for just this purpose, but I'm not sure how to configure it. Thanks for any suggestions :-)

OS X has IPSec built into it - look for 10.3 to have it as an option next to PPTP. In the mean time, if you need a copy of the Cisco client, just holler and I can hook you up (I believe it will only work with Cisco on the other end though...) I use it daily and it has been flawless...

Thanks for the tip! I'm hoping that it might end up in 10.3 ...fingers crossed! :-) I appreciate the offer for help with the Cisco client --is it kosher for me to just "obtain" a copy? PPTP still works for the time being, and I'll have to check that the server end is also using Cisco. Cheers,
Fraser
