hi

my computer has recently started waking up whenever it feels like it (usually overnight, waking me up too)

i did a macNN search. couldn?t find any exact answers to my problem. but the search did lead me to check out my console where i found:

25 : <CFString 0x226a10 [0xa01303fc]>{contents = "auto-reveal-desktop-items"} = <CFNumber 0xc1760 [0xa01303fc]>{value = +0, type = kCFNumberSInt32Type}
26 : <CFString 0x2269b0 [0xa01303fc]>{contents = "unique-id"} = <CFString 0x2269d0 [0xa01303fc]>{contents = "425FDD86-A13A-11D7-8D29-0030658FFBE6"}
28 : <CFString 0x226a40 [0xa01303fc]>{contents = "worker-class"} = <CFString 0x226a60 [0xa01303fc]>{contents = "WorkerRemotePuppetStrings"}

now, i?ve no idea what this means, but terms like"auto-reveal-desktop-items" & "WorkerRemotePuppetStrings" are concerning.

could someone please tell me i don?t have evil ones living inside my mainbrain

(the computer is just dial-up)

thanks, posthumanus

Hi, I have no clue what anything in the Console means, but...

If you have an optical mouse, is it on a reflective surface? That used to cause my screen to randomly wake up.

If that doesn't help, just unplugging the mouse for the night definitely solves the trick for me. The next night, everything is curiously OK again.

Yeah this happens to me too. And it woke me up too.. My crappy solution was just dimming the screen manually, but it doesn't work well. Strangest thing, happened after one of the 10.2 something updates.
