OS X permissions problem

hi there guys/gals,
i am running OS X, v. 10.2.6 and i am having permissions problem on a users directory and that user has admin priviledges...i can see all the other directories except the one that i really want to see..and then i created a new directory w/o admin privildeges and that was seen too...does anyone know what may be causing my problem...i went over the privileges and i even gave read and write privileges to everyone, yet i still can't see the home directory...any ideas...

I assume you repaired permissions using disk utility? I'm not that good at permissions but I do know that's the place to start.

Who owns the directory? Are you trying to access the directory as that user?
Can you access it as root? I'd have to imagine you can?
