For security reasons, I needed to change my password to my user account. I was able to change the password with no problems, however I am NOT able to change the Password Hint. It remains greyed out and cannot be tabbed to or selected. I am the admin user on my computer.

Does anyone know why I can't put down a new hint to reflect my new password? It's kind of important as I change passwords often and use the hints to remind me, from time to time.

Help.

Sorry if this is a newbie question...

Go into System Preferences>Accounts>Edit User> enter your current password hit enter and after that you'll be able to change your current password, name and hint.

Nope, I have the same problem as pbjudge... after doing that, the password hint field remains grayed out.

Just after reading your post, a friend referred me to an Apple Knowledge Base article that detailed how to change it via the NetInfo Manager. Apparently people who upgraded from OS 10.1.4 to the latest, cannot change it via the normal route ( SP>Accounts). So I followed the directions for modifying the NetInfo Manager and...

It worked fine.

If others have this problem, to to Apple's support page and search for "Password Hint problems".
