Strangest thing happened- I think the installation of Quicktime 6.3 deleted many of my frameworks. Has anyone seen this happen?

Have a look at this screenshot in Profiler:

Lost Frameworks

Do I need to reinstall?

The "unavailable" just means that the descriptive version string was never added to the framework, it doesn't mean the framework itself is unavailable.

Has anyone checked their profiler to see? It just seems strange that the descriptive string wouldn't be avaiable for all those frameworks.

It wouldn't matter to me except that I no longer have sound working on my laptop since installing quicktime. Even the startup chime hasn't worked since then.

"Not Available" is normal.

Don't make a problem out of nothing.

Why not? Making random logical leaps and then getting all cut up about them is what $lusers do best.

That's a nice comment there Angus. Random logical leaps? What are we? Computers? Vulcans?
Fact is greggers saw something that bothered him. Something that he didn't know the answer to and asked a question. That is all. Getting 'all cut up about [it]' would be:
THAT'S IT! I'M DITCHING THIS STUPID MAC AND GETTING A PC! APPLE SUCK!!!
So, try and cheer up, eh?

fwiw, I'm not running 6.3 and I too have the 'not available' in the Infor string column.

I'm making a random logical leap here, but I'm going to say that if a framework were to be deleted, it wouldn't show up in ASP.

I know this sounds stupid, but have you checked to see if your volume is turned all the way down or possibly muted in the "Sound" system preference pane?
