Those two emoticons say it all.
But... I'm curious how this will work. Will each group just start working as one big group? For example: unify their package distribution system and combine their available packages, programmers, etc...?
That being said, let me now say this: I'm so glad that there are developers out there putting effort into projects like Fink and Gentoo and Darwin Ports, it's an awesome thing for the MacOS platform. I don't know what I'd do without the ease of updating and installing packages. Heck, what would Apple do? These developers are helping the OSX cause by leaps and bounds.
Thanks, guys.

The answer is NO. The goal is to reduce the time to port an application. For instance lets say dev A ports XXX in gentoo, then It will give whats needed to the metapkg. SOmeone from fink && || darwinports will then have the ability to use those diffs in order to package the new port for fink or darwinports.
