I installed Jaguar on a 500 mhz titanium powerbook that had only been running 9.1
During the installation I noticed gliches with the delete and space keys. When I entered user information at the end of the install, if I pressed either one of those two keys the computer would enter characters in the entry fields. This is my nieces computer and she said she has seen this sporadically in the past.
I was able to complete the Jaguar install and run software update and install OS 10.2.6 combo update.
After rebooting, the pointer stays frozen in the upper left corner of the screen.
I tried rebooting from the Jaguar install disc and running Disc Utility and it claims the disc is fine. But when I reboot the pointer is still frozen.
Please help!!!

That is the exact same thing that has happened to me and I am currently in the process of fixing the problem.... right now I'm running 9.2.2 and messing around w/ 10.0, but I lost my 10.1 discs, so i cannot install 10.1 and then upgrade to 10.2 with the CDs.

Here's what YOU need to do to fix the problem.... boot onto your jaguar CD and go through these installation steps:

"Reinstalling Mac OS X
To reinstall Mac OS X, insert the Mac OS X Install Disc 1 CD and double-click the Install
Mac OS X icon. Select the destination disk and click Options, then select “Archive and
Install.” To save your existing users and groups, homes, and network settings, select
the checkbox. The Installer saves your existing system files in a folder named Previous System. You
cannot start up your computer using the Previous System folder."

This is from the readme on the install CD. Unfortunately, I backuped my files and formatted my HD before I read this.... so here I am in my current situation. I hope that you have better luck.

P.S. Do YOU have a disc image of 10.1 that you could send me via the net (provided that you've got broadband, naturally)?? That would make me OH so if I had a 10.1 CD again...
