I've got two hard drives in my G4 tower. I've got file sharing turned on and when using another Mac and I hit Cmd K I can easily see the machine name - problem is that I only see the one hard drive. I have the option to see the first hard drive and the "home" share of the user (which is the admin user of the box). I can't seem to be able to see the second hard drive when attempted to access the share remotely.

I've tried to adjust the settings for the second drive under "get info", but receive an error message when attempting to do so.

Any tricks to viewing a second (or more) drive via file sharing?

thanks - danbrew

Stop FileSharing in the prefspane first. Afterwards change the setting of the related drive and restart Filesharing.

I've seen this happen. Try changing the name of the drive and then turning sharing off and on.

Also try resting the machine.

only an administrator user can mount a secondary drive (I think)

Use share points. It is great for this sort of thing.

Sharepoints is a way to set up "shares" that are accessible to any user you specify, tied to any directory (in this case, your second drive). Errm... in otherwords, filesharing like you knew it back in OS9. But at least as of yet it's not built into the GUI for OS X Client.

You can go and muck around in Utilities-->NetInfo Manager and set them up, but I would recommend instead getting this:
http://hornware.com/sharepoints/

It's a donationware PrefsPane that allows you a quick and easy way to creates shares, and/or manage users and priviledges for those shares. It's fabu. Enjoy...
