Ok....so I set up 1 snow iMac exactly how I wanted it...was planning on using CarbonCopyCloner to clone drive on another snow iMac with exact same specs.

Just discovered that the firewire ports on the machine I configured are busted. ( I've tried connecting multiple firewire drives to this and other machines. Drives are fine.) What is the best (read: easiest) way for me to clone the drive? Can I use CCC over ethernet if I connect the 2 machines directly?? If so, how?

thanxs!

I don't see why you can't use ethernet.

First connect the 2 imacs with the ethernet cable(crossover if directly) thru a hub.

Then mount the to be cloned imac's hd thru Go/connect to server.

Once it is mounted start up CCC.

Then just select the the target disc form the drop down menu.

It should work, though I haven't tested it myself as fw is so much faster.

Let us know if it worked.
