will panther speed up a imac 500mhz. I hope so. What about a iBook 700mhz

I don't know... Steve didn't mention in his Keynote whether Panther would speed up Yoyoman's gear.

There are plenty of Panther threads. The least you could do is make your subject more descriptive. For example "Will Panther run faster on older hardware?" would have been much better than "Panther".
