Just got a 15inch PowerBook G4 and installed KDE on it using fink (binary installation). Everytime I try to enter a '+' in a KDE app (Quanta, Kate, ...) it just selects to the left (as if hitting shift-left cursor) and no + is entered. This only happens in KDE apps (gaim works fine), although oddly it doesn't happen in Konsole, so my guess is it's related to Qt inputfields. Anyone have any idea of what might be causing this strange behaviour? I'd love to use Quanta on my PowerBook as I did on my Linux PC, but this is a showstopper.

Edit: forgot to mention this happens with both the numpad '+' and 'shift-='.

After hours of fiddling around I came up with the following workaround. In the terminal (preferably xterm, or an Aqua term if you set the DISPLAY var correctly) type:
Code:
xmodmap -e 'keycode 78 = Left'
You may have to manually reset your KDE program's keymapping for 'select left'.
