Hi there.
This is a partial output of my CUPS error_log:
I [26/Jun/2003:20:52:20 -0400] Started filter /usr/libexec/cups/filter/cgpdftops (PID 672) for job 5.
I [26/Jun/2003:20:52:20 -0400] Started filter /usr/libexec/cups/filter/pstops (PID 673) for job 5.
I [26/Jun/2003:20:52:20 -0400] Started filter /usr/libexec/cups/filter/cupsomatic (PID 674) for job 5.
I [26/Jun/2003:20:52:20 -0400] Started backend /usr/libexec/cups/backend/usb (PID 675) for job 5.
E [26/Jun/2003:20:52:20 -0400] [Job 5] CGPDFDocumentCreateWithURL couldn't open `/private/var/spool/cups/d00005-001'.
E [26/Jun/2003:20:52:20 -0400] PID 672 stopped with status 1!
I [26/Jun/2003:20:52:20 -0400] Hint: Try setting the LogLevel to "debug" to find out more.
E [26/Jun/2003:20:52:20 -0400] [Job 5] Empty print file!
E [26/Jun/2003:20:52:20 -0400] PID 673 stopped with status 1!
I [26/Jun/2003:20:52:20 -0400] Hint: Try setting the LogLevel to "debug" to find out more.
Question: Anyone knows how to set the LogLevel to "debug"? Or better yet, anyone venture a guess as what's going on?
(This is after installing EPS Ghostscript and Lexmark-GDI foomatic drivers from linuxprinting.org.)
TIA.

I was just trying to print. After realizing that the files I sent for printing ended in a blackhole, it occured to open up the log and see these...Can you help?

Actually, no. I made a mistake of updating CUPS and installing EPS Ghostscript and later found out that that was redundant...

lol, that's probably going to be hard to fix.. you'll be getting your hands dirty with unix I think.
Hmm, setting the debug will probably not be useful.
Hmm, configure stuff for cups is usually in /etc/cups
can't be of much help, sleepppy.. off to sleep

ack
I'll try
E [26/Jun/2003:20:52:20 -0400] [Job 5] CGPDFDocumentCreateWithURL couldn't open `/private/var/spool/cups/d00005-001'.
that is the problem, it seems to be having trouble with opening the spooled file? or maybe a filter screwed something up?
but, the stuff after this line is just cups tripping over it's feet
we have trouble at work printing from thigs like Canvas, or illustrator to a cups print server (redhat), I found that one can get by it by saving the print file to pdf, and then printing that pdf with preview. See if that works..
a possible solution, is reinstalling cups for X, see if there is a package that you can install somewhere on the Jaguar CDs, a reinstall will fix..
also check your configure files, see if anything is wrong there..
