I have a stock G4 350 with a Rage 128 Pro AGP card. I thought you should see a little shadow or something show up under the mouse and I cannot tell if its there or not.

Second question, is a Matrox G450 with 32 megs support QE?

Thanks,

dw9

A Rage 128 Pro doesn't support QE - I don't know about the other card.

Thanks. Is it true about the shadow thing? If so, maybe I will try it out.

It's not true with the shadow thing. You can try it with fading desktops or with the Quartz Extreme Checker app.
Nasrudin sat on a river bank when someone shouted to him from the opposite side: "Hey! how do I get across?" "You are across!" Nasrudin shouted back.

Anyhow, I think it's overrated anyway. I mean, if it really made that much of a difference, why do we have a "how can I tell if QE is active"-thread every other week?

Stink different.

I can see that you don't have a QE enabled Mac.

I do, and the only thing that's fast is window dragging.

Scrolling and resizing Safari is as slow as before as this has nothing to do with compositing.

Because, no offense, people are morons. If they really wanted to know quickly and easily, they would look it up in the TIL.
