When I go to export a pdf as another format. the listings in the format don't work the way they should.

If I try to save as a png I'll get a psd. To actually save the image as a png I need to save it as and sgi image. To save it as an sgi image, I'd need to save it as a tiff. To save a tiff, well... I don't know...

Heres the list:

Selected format -> actual format (what the image gets saved as).

bmp -> bmp
jp2 -> jp2
jpeg -> jpeg
MacPaint -> pntg
Maya IFF -> iff
pdf -> iff
photoshop -> iff
pict ->pdf
png -> psd
Quicktime Image -> pict
sgi -> png
tga -> qtif
tiff -> sgi

Anyone have any clues where I should look?
Has this happened to anyone else?

It's not 'life threatening' but it is annoying and I'd like to get it fixed (without doing an archive and install ).

Lol - i thought it was just me (or the Maya PLE, which I had blamed for it)

Have no idea how to fix it, though... sorry.

Maybe we should form a "Preview screwed my formats" support group.

At least it's not just me.

I experienced this last week in fact. It actually is Maya that causes it - more specifically, its Export file format extensions.

I'm at work right now so I can't give you the exact file location, but look for 'IFF' components in /Library/ and take them out (unless you really need them) - Preview should be back to normal then.

Good luck.
