Okay, this is about the 5th time this has happened. Every once in awhile, my Mac just decides that the internal HDs are the only thing it's going to pay any attention to. I have 2 HDs, one with 2 partitions and one with 1 partition. OS is on one drive, Home directory on the other.
When my Mac is in this hissy-fit state, disk images won't mount (Disk Copy says there are no mountable file systems), CDs won't pop up on the desktop...and the console message is frustratingly nonchalant about the whole thing:
Jul 2 22:34:54 cambot /sbin/autodiskmount[274]: disk2s1s9 hfs no no Mac OS X Install Disc 1 [not mounted]
The only thing I've found that fixes it is a clean install of the OS. Repairing permissions does nothing. This is at least the 5th time this has happened. Can anyone offer any insights? Thanks!
