I would like to buy an HD Cinema Display, however I have one problem. My eyesight isn't very good and with the display's reolution I can't read anything. The zoom feature in OS X is cool, but I don't want to scroll around my desktop and I don't want fuzzy fonts and images. I just want all the text to be a little bigger.

So, what I would like is to the change the PPI setting and fake the OS X rendering engine into rendering everything bigger. I did a grep through everything in /System/Library for "72" but didn't find anything promising. Does anyone out there know where I might have more success?

Thanks Much,
Luke Chastain

I don't know anything about that but you can change the resolution on lcds.

I'm sure your aware that lcds have a native resolution where one lcd equals one pixel, but you can change it and the computer will dither the lcvd elements to adjust the resolution.

I'm typing this on an apple 20" lcd display - beautiful I must say - the resolution open to that is 1344x840, 1280x800 & 1024x768 etc. All of these resolutions will make the text larger but less crisp.

Have you looked at the samsung 191t, I think they have a 1280x800 resolution on a 19" lcd, this may have the right size and resolution for you.

Good Luck
Mike
