FYI, a quite interesting article on the history of the NeXTSTEP OS is available here - lots of screenshots, too, and also a thread on Slashdot...

Yes, it was a nice article. Back in those days the computer world wasn't so black and white. You had Commodore (64/128 And Amiga), Apple (Apple II and Macintosh), IBM PC, NeXT, Atari, Ti, etc.

Technology was a lot more exciting back then.
